Cove rocks - wrasse and pollack in the kelp

Headlands either side - bass on rough seas

Deep water off the rocks - mackerel in summer

Wrasse In Season

The cove is full of rocky ledges and kelp. Ballan and cuckoo wrasse on float fished crab. Collect limpets from the rocks for bait.

Bait: Peeler crab, limpet (collect locally), ragworm

Pollack In Season

Pollack in the kelp-filled gullies of the cove. Spin with soft plastics at dusk.

Bait: Soft plastics, spinner, jelly worm

Bass In Season

Headlands on either side of the cove produce bass in rough weather. Fish 2 hours either side of dusk.

Bait: Plug, soft plastic, crab

Limit: 2 per person per day. Minimum Size: 42cm.

Mackerel In Season

From the rocks off the headlands. Feathers or float-fished strip. July-August best.

Bait: Feather rig, float with mackerel strip
