Eastern gully - best bass mark on the Lizard, fish the channel

Main beach surf line - bass at first light, especially after easterlies

Eastern reef - wrasse at high water on float

Sandy areas off beach - plaice and dab after storms

Bass In Season

One of the best bass beaches on the Lizard. The eastern gully is famous. Fish first light on an incoming tide. Easterly winds push bait in and bass follow.

Bait: Plug, soft plastic, crab, live sandeel

Limit: 2 per person per day. Minimum Size: 42cm.

Wrasse In Season

Rocky eastern reef holds good wrasse. Float fish with crab in the kelp at high water.

Bait: Peeler crab, ragworm, limpet

Flatfish In Season

After storms stir up the sand, plaice and dab move in. Fish small baits at range.

Bait: Ragworm, lugworm, mussel
