Bass In Season

Fistral is one of the UK's most famous bass beaches. Fish the surf line after storms. Dawn and dusk. Big Atlantic swells produce the best fish.

Bait: Plug, soft plastic, live sandeel

Limit: 2 per person per day. Minimum Size: 42cm.

Wrasse In Season

Towan Head rocks hold good wrasse. Float fish crab in the kelp at high water.

Bait: Peeler crab, limpet, ragworm

Pollack In Season

Towan Head and harbour rocks. Spin at dusk.

Bait: Soft plastics, spinner, jelly worm

Mackerel In Season

From the harbour walls and Towan Head. Feathers and sabiki. July-August peak.

Flatfish In Season

Great Western Beach sandy areas at low tide. Plaice and dab.
